We hope everyone had a wonderful Chinese New Year celebration these past 2 weeks. The COSF UK Trustees Dyan Sterling, Xiaodi Bell and Prof. Zhanfeng Cui and our Oxford Panel Chairman Prof. Wiliam Swadling had the wonderful opportunity to meet up with some of the new scholars and scholar alumni over a cracking Sichuan meal at the Tian Fu restaurant in London. What a great way to enjoy the lunar new year in the run up to the Lantern Festival. Scholar Convenors Tingfei and Yi organised the festive gathering at the New Dancing Dragon. The afternoon tea event took place at Brasenose College where COSF Keelan Scholar Daniel Lei performed two flute pieces which delighted guests. This time it&#8217;s during the Golden Week in China with COSF AA members in Beijing having a reunion in a traditional Beijing \u201csiheyuan\u201d venue. Members and Oxford alumni enjoyed a good dinner and shared recent update with one another ranging from the latest investment research opinions on humanoid robots to one alumna&#8217;s research in power electronics and her job search. The Beardson Oxford Award will fund a scholar  in any area of study. The Award is in honour and memory of our late International Chairman, Timothy Beardson, who passed away aged 69 on the 12th October 2020. He is one of three Oxford academic to receive this honour this year.&nbsp; Prof. Wooldridge is an Ashall Professor of Foundations of Artificial Intelligence and Sr Research Fellow at Hertford College. He is one of 74 new Fellows recognised in 2025 for exceptional contributions to engineering and technology. Yuhan is the only recipient from China in recent years to secure such a significant award. Well done Yuhan for securing the Julian Robertson Big Cat Conservation Fellowship which will further support her DPhil studies in Biology at Oxford. A big welcome to Prof. Fei Yan and Dr Boshen Wu as the newest members of the Hong Kong Board of Trustees. Both are China Oxford Scholar Alumni.  Prof. Yan was at St Cross College and was awarded a DPhil in Sociology in 2011. Such a privilege for the China Oxford Scholarship Fund and its Scholars to be invited to their Oxford home and have the chance to wish Lord Patten a happy retirement after 20 years as Chancellor of Oxford University. The Fund gifted him the 4-volume set of the &#8220;Old Hong Kong Photos and The Stories They Tell&#8221; books by David Bellis. The COSF-Alumni Association in Beijing organised its first online-offline event with more than 20 scholars taking part around the world in the discussion on the \u201cWorld\u2019s Energy Strategy in a Turning Point\u201d. The weather was too good to stay indoors! Our scholars spent their afternoon punting on River Cherwell. They enjoyed the splendid views along the river while having a good exercise. He was also the International Chairman. Although he had stepped back from active involvement in the charity in recent times, his and Clair\u2019s hospitality was legendary and enjoyed by us all at the Hailey lunches which for many years contributed so much to COSF and the scholars,\u201d said Nicholas Dennys QC, COSF\u2019s&nbsp; UK Chairman.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Timothy was also a mentor for China Oxford Scholars.   \u201cIt is my fortune to have met Mr Beardson.
